Interestingly, I’m not alone when reading your ramblings and feeling as if I’m looking in the mirror whilst doing so.
The mantra of “keep turning up and keep getting paid” always seems more secure than the unknown alternative. That mundane disappointment each morning that the alarm goes off and it’s a work day, feeling as if you’re an outsider soon jades your ability to recognise that you’ve started to exclude yourself, life is meant to be lived, not purely survived
Bloody hell Sowts, I am supposed to be the writer here! I don't need any competition from you! Have a listen to the podcast. Explains really well how we evaluate the risk of leaving against the risk of staying and why we often get it wrong.
Great article Ryan. It’s great to see you following your passion of storytelling and writing! So very important to find meaning in what we do before it’s too late! And yes I identify with you the ‘farewell’ - we all deserve better for ourselves than that!
Thanks for reading Araceli. From the messages I've been receiving, sadly, there has been a lot of nodding over this article...(nodding in agreement, not nodding off... hopefully!).
Great piece Ryan, I really enjoyed reading this !
Thanks for reading Fiona and for the kind words!
great article Ryan. Through your words i can almost place myself there along side you.
Ha! I believe you were!

It was shocking at the time to realise that what seemed like a few years can actually be a significant percentage of your life.
I found myself nodding in agreement quite a few times while reading this piece!

Thanks for reading and for the encouragement Vicki!
Fantastic note Ryan. Glad to see you got away from such a bad spot. It resonated with me because I have lived through something very similar.
Glad you enjoyed it Warren! I also highly recommend having a listen to the podcast if you haven't already.
